LIAM + Molly Blog
I’m Seema Sudan, and I left Philadelphia in 2008 to start my own knitwear collection in my husband’s hometown of New Orleans. Yes, knitwear in hot, humid New Orleans. (Funny enough, I find people wear sweaters more down here than in Philly.) My designs are deeply rooted in traditions of community and craftsmanship. I believe knitting should be local, and sweaters should last for generations. I named LiaMolly after our kids, Liam and Molly, because I like to think of each sweater being passed down to the younger generation – to become tomorrow’s heirlooms.
Thanks for joining our adventure – and for supporting quality, beauty, and ethical craftsmanship.
There’s no place like home.

I’ve always believed knitting should be local, but easier said than done to bring the manufacturing of my knitwear designs to New Orleans from Asia! That said, now is the time to bring the jobs home. All I need is a knitting machine – a huge, crazy expensive, monstrously complicated machine usually found in countries on the other side of the planet. Check out our Kickstarter campaign to raise funds for the downpayment on one of these mysterious machines, so LiaMolly designs can one day be “made in New Orleans”!
